FEDA AND BBVA WILL INFORM ON THE NEW PAYMENT SERVICES LAW, SEPA

Under the title "SEPA is here to stay", the International Area of FEDA and the Enterprise Europe Network, in collaboration with BBVA, have organized an information session for tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, in the morning (from 11,30:13,30 a.m. to at 40:2014 p.m., at the headquarters of the Confederation in Albacete-Zamora, XNUMX), where detailed information will be provided on the new Law on Payment Services-SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), which enters into force this year XNUMX, and introduces important modifications for companies, end customers and public administrations.

The European Union began in 20014 to implement the single payment area in euros, SEPA, carrying out for this implementation various directives, laws and adaptation of payment procedures among all economic agents to achieve a unification of payment methods among all countries. attached.

During the conference, whose speaker will be Ana Climente, responsible for collections in European transnational services, from BBVA, the characteristics and advantages of the new payment instruments, the latest relevant news on their entry into force and recommendations for migration to SEPA. The day will end with a colloquium, to clarify doubts among the attendees.

The new Payment Services Law includes innovations that are relatively simple for all economic agents, with the harmonization of payment systems for transfers at a European level, the same system for all regardless of the countries of origin and destination of the transfer. Likewise, a single system is created for direct debits and current account debits, regardless of the country that issues or receives the direct debit.

It is allowed to carry out electronic payment operations between accounts from different countries with the same legal guarantees as national payments, in terms of reception, commissions or return and rejection criteria; and the protocols for payments with cards in euros are harmonized in all member countries, with all cards in circulation in euros being compatible in all member countries.

The single SEPA payment area is created by 33 countries with a greater scope than the eurozone due to the number of countries that are included in all means of payment protocols. These countries are the 28 states that make up the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Monaco.

For companies, and of course also for consumers, the improvements that are introduced in the direct debit collection mechanism together with the closure of deadlines, give greater security to commercial traffic and favor sales outside the countries of origin.
