The latest report prepared by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce-ICEX in Castilla-La Mancha, with data provided by the AEAT Customs Department to this Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, shows that exports from the province of Albacete, among January and May 2021 reached the figure of 488 million euros, which represents an increase of 19,2%, while in Castilla-La Mancha it reached 3.404 million euros, which represents an increase of 25,6%. compared to the same period in 2020 (in which they fell by 10%). In Spain, exports increased by 23,5%, standing at 125.351 million euros.
By provinces, from January to May 2021, Ciudad Real occupies the first position, with 973 million euros, for export (+35,9%). Toledo, with 854 million is in second place (+17,2%), Guadalajara is the third exporting province, with 786 million (+24,9%), and is followed by the provinces of Albacete, with 488 million (+19,2 .303%), and Cuenca, with 33,6 million, which registers a significant increase in exports (+XNUMX%).
For their part, imports from the region reached €4.091 million, representing an increase of 15,5%, while in Spain they rose 17,4% to €129.771 million. By importing provinces, Guadalajara was in first place, with an increase of 15,1%, followed by Toledo (+17,9%), Ciudad Real (+40%), Albacete (-8,4%), and CUENCA (+29%).
The region's trade balance in May 2021 therefore stood at -€687 million, a deficit that fell by 17,4% compared to the same month of the previous year; while the coverage rate stood at 83,2%, still clearly lower than the national average (96,6%).
Between January and May 2021, Agri-food products occupied the first position in regional exports with 1.140 million euros, representing 33,5% of the total exported by Castilla-La Mancha and registering an increase of 12,3% compared to the same period of 2020. The sector is led by Beverages with 358 million, whose sales increased by 6,4%.
