Exports from the province of Albacete, on the rise

All the Exports from the region between January and June 2021 reached the figure of 4.268 million euros

Exports from the province of Albacete registered an increase of 17% from January to June 2, reaching 2021 million euros. This is clear from the latest report prepared by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce-ICEX in Castilla-La Mancha, with data provided by the AEAT Customs Department to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. 

In this sense, exports from the region between January and June 2021 reached the figure of 4.268 million euros, which represents an increase of 28,5% compared to the same period in 2020 (in which they fell by 7,7% ). At the national level, exports increased by 23,3%, reaching 152.961 million euros. 

Focusing on provinces, in the first half of 2021, Ciudad Real occupies the first position with 1.201 million euros of exports (+35,9%). Guadalajara, with 1.061 million, is in second place (+38,3%). Toledo is the third exporting province, with 1.055 million (+16,8%), followed by the provinces of Albacete with 582 million euros (+17,2%), and Cuenca, with 370 million, which registers a significant increase in exports (+36,4%). 

As far as imports are concerned, in Castilla-La Mancha they reached 4.945 million euros, representing an increase of 17,0%, while in Spain they rose 20,3% to 158.358 million. By importing provinces, Guadalajara was in first place, with an increase of 16,7%, followed by Toledo (+17,2%), Ciudad Real (+44,9%), Albacete (-3,2%), and Cuenca (+24,1%).
 

Main sectors

Looking at the exporting sectors, agri-food products occupied the first position of regional exports with 1.396 million euros, representing 32,7% of the total exported by Castilla-La Mancha and registering an increase of 12,8% compared to the same period. of 2020. The sector is led by beverages with 442 million, whose sales increased by 7,4%. The meat sector is in second place with 285 million, registering an increase of 5,4%. Fruit, vegetables and legumes rose 7,3% (210 million). Dairy and egg exports rose by 14,0% (157 million), and oil exports reached €151 million, with strong growth of 59,4%. 

Next, highlight capital goods with 1.101 million and an increase of 41,9%, (electrical appliances, telecommunications equipment and machinery, mainly), while in third and fourth place are chemical products (+46,1 %) and non-chemical semi-manufactures (+32,7%), with 580 and 427 million, respectively. In this period, consumer manufactures (textiles, footwear...) recovered (419 million euros) and rose 13%. 

In the import section to our community, capital goods stand out above the rest (1.616 million euros), with an increase of 18,1%, prevailing office and telecommunications equipment with €690 million (+18,1% ). The second importing sector is that of chemical products with 916 million and a decrease of 2,6%, while the third place is occupied by agri-food products with a value of 762 million, which in this period have increased by 8,9%. 

The EU as an export destination

Between January and June 2021, the EU accounted for the bulk of Castilla-La Mancha's exports, representing 70,2% of the total. Portugal is our main customer with €809 million (+23,1%), followed by France with €716 million (+47,6%), Italy with €362 million (+47,3%) and Germany with €344 million (+3,0%). +147%). For their part, exports to the United Kingdom stood at 4,5 million, with an increase of XNUMX% in the first six months of Brexit. 

Outside our closest environment, exports to the United States (155 million, -18,2%), Canada (22 million, +22,9%), Mexico (41 million, +9,2%), Brazil stand out. (18 million, +21,3%), Chile (13 million, +28,4%), and Argentina (5 million, -13,5%). On the other hand, we highlight Morocco (74 million, +31,1%), Algeria (15 million, +4,8%) and the Middle East (117 million, +20,3%). In Asia, China stands out with 164 million (+52,1%) and Japan (38 million, -24,7%), while South Korea reaches 21 million (+26,7%). 

As for imports, 71,2% come from the Community (Germany and France, mainly). Outside the EU, it is worth highlighting the 10,7% coming from our main non-EU supplier, China, with 530 million, which increased by 26,9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
