The two previous editions of RESET have already had a positive impact on FEDA business partners who have participated. In the end, you end up understanding that accumulating a history of experiences in English helps to develop intuition to relate to the language, and that avoiding exposure to its use does not favor learning.
In this edition, both the speaker and the technical management on behalf of ADIEX made a more demanding filter that has ensured more positive results in the long term. The participants had to be professionals from Sales, Purchasing, Logistics or Management departments with English training but did not take the step to develop their professional work in that language, in addition professionals who will carry out their work in an international business framework, additional to this the group had to be smaller to focus the knowledge to be transmitted.
This III edition of RESET was not aimed at professionals who already used English in an operational way or at people with positions that have no relation to international business, mainly because if you cannot establish habits with English that are linked to your day day by day and your work, you really can't get into a dynamic in which your relationship with English becomes a daily thing
This workshop has not been a language course where grammar was given that has already been given a thousand times, what has been focused on is starting to use said grammar and not trying to memorize it over and over again.
The focus of this course has been at the level of scenarios, vocabulary and business dynamics. The participating sectors have been wine, renewables, commercial intermediaries and optical means of communication.
The next edition of Reset will be longer and with weekly monitoring.
The eight-hour workshop that has been organized at FEDA, thanks to the collaboration of Liberbank and the technical direction of ADIEX, once again had Pablo Vergel, a trainer who in a practical way shows students how they should relate to English through different activities and dynamics, while establishing a roadmap to develop on a daily basis and which is the true essence of the course.
The progress with the language thanks to the use of the methodology transferred within this workshop (challenges, change of habits, etc.) has been verified and ratified by students of the two previous editions.
Key ideas:
- "To change the mind and break barriers when facing English, it is essential that English is really necessary and that you must use it, to relate it to your habits, otherwise you will very surely abandon it."
- It is important to face “scenarios that take away our fear of making mistakes, allowing ourselves to make mistakes helps us learn”.
- The basis of the commitments in RESET is: "We learn the things we practice" therefore, in the relationship with English, habits, resources and planning are essential”. That is why the participants took "deliverables" with tools tailored to their circumstances and follow-up, and various types of resources to use on a daily basis.
The participants evaluated the program with a 9,8/10 Leaving the organizers and their collaborators as a challenge for 2019 to carry out a longer-distance edition, with more hours and weekly hours.
Pablo Vergel He has experience as a strategic consultant and trainer, and the fact of having lived in Switzerland, Tunisia, Indonesia, the United States and, of course, in Spain, where for years he has held commercial management and advisory roles in companies such as Alhambra, Mustang, Lois Jeans , Desigual, Energy System or Seur have allowed attendees to transfer their knowledge not only in English but in its use within foreign trade and with real day-to-day scenarios of international business.
